Centerville Clinics Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for $5.1 Million Project
Centerville Clinics held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, July 23, to officially begin construction of a new Washington Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health Care Center in the Highland-Ridge section of Washington.
The facilities that are being built along Highland Avenue include a two-story, 15,800 square foot medical building that will be the new home of Washington Family Doctors, a 9,800 square foot mental health building, and separate, off-street parking. The new facilities mark another expansion by Centerville Clinics that will include additional services, such as dental, additional doctors, and expanded behavioral health care services.
Total cost of the project will be approximately $5.1 million, with construction of the medical building estimated at $3.1 million and construction of the mental health building estimated at $1.25 million. Funding for the project is coming, in part, from a federal grant of $1.6 million made by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the Department of Health and Human Services under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The grant helps support construction of the medical building.
Additional financial assistance for this project is being provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Honorable Ed Rendell, governor. Centerville Clinics received a grant of $500,000 under Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), a program that focuses on projects that display significant potential for improving economic growth and creating jobs.
The ceremonial groundbreaking comes after several months of planning and site preparation. The projected completion dates are November 2010 for the mental health building, January 30, 2011 for the medical building, and March 2011 for the overall project.
The Centerville Clinics network of 12 medical offices and four dental offices includes Bentleyville Family Practice Center, California Doctors Office, Carmichaels Clinic, Charleroi Medical and Dental Office, Connellsville Medical Office, Fairchance Office, Republic Doctors Office, Uniontown Family Doctors, Washington Family Doctors, Waynesburg Office, and the Yablonski Memorial Clinic.
